Erika grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and Encinitas, California. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She earned a Master of Arts in Education, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and an Education Specialist Instruction Credential from California State University, San Marcos.
With experience teaching and supporting learners in preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and beyond, Erika recognized she could make a more meaningful impact by supporting learners and their families individually. This led her to transition from teaching to educational therapy. She is an educational therapist/professional certified by the Association for Educational Therapists (AET) as well as an Academic Language Practitioner certified by the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA).
Erika specializes in reading intervention and written language disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, developmental reading disorders, and related learning needs. She also provides certified executive function coaching to support organization, planning, and academic success. Erika is highly skilled in developing individual education plans, providing personalized educational therapy, and multisensory structured language education. She has extensive experience supporting the social-emotional well-being and inclusion of all learners, fostering collaborative relationships with families, and cultivating independence and joy for learning.
Erika is a lifelong learner, avid reader, and knowledge seeker. She enjoys hiking, roller skating, rollerblading, and spending time with family and friends.
